Mitsubishi Corp. Buys Stake In Dutch Project

Mitsubishi Corp. has agreed to buy a 50% stake in the 129 MW Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm, located 23 km off the Dutch coast. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to Eneco, Vestas will supply 43 V112 turbines for the offshore wind farm, which is slated to begin construction in July 2014.

Other partners include marine construction services provider Van Oord, design and engineering firm Joulz, and European grid operator TenneT.

Additionally, a long-term agreement among the partners was signed, signaling that the companies intend to work together on additional European offshore wind projects, Eneco notes.
