3B, a developer and supplier of fiberglass products and technologies, says it has received Germanischer Lloyd (GL) approval for SE2020 reinforcements for laminates used primarily in the manufacture of wind turbine blades.

"Wind power generation is, by far, the most environmentally acceptable solution toward a sustainable and pollution-free energy source to help meet our needs for decades to come," says Onur Tokgoz, wind energy global business leader at 3B. "SE2020 roving is made from a boron-free E-CR glass offering significantly improved corrosion resistance across a wide range of aggressive environments."
