North American Windpower: Nord-Lock Releases New Series Of Bolt-Securing Washers

Nord-Lock, a provider of bolt-securing systems, has launched its X-series washer, which the company says combines wedge-locking protection with a spring effect that protects against slackening.

With new technologies and demands, joints increasingly have to withstand stresses from multiple fronts, including vibration, dynamic loads, settlement and relaxation, the company explains, adding that the Nord-Lock X-series is designed to secure bolts from all of these causes at once.

The Nord-Lock X-series washers include multiple functions that act on the bolted joint in order to maintain preload and prevent spontaneous bolt loosening, Nord-Lock notes.
