With Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback on hand, EDF Renewable Energy and KCP&L dedicated the 100.8 MW Spearville 3 Wind Project this week.

The wind farm is located in Ford County, Kan., 17 miles northeast of Dodge City.

EDF Renewable Energy (formerly enXco) developed and built the project, which comprises 63 GE XLE turbines, and EDF Renewable Services (formerly enXco Service Corp.) will provide the operations and maintenance services. KCP&L will purchase the power generated under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
