Turbine manufacturer Nordex has introduced Premium Light, a new maintenance package for existing wind turbines.

Nordex says the package entails all of the elements of the full-service contract but permits customers to exclude the large turbine components from the contract, which provides operators with greater risk-management coverage.

Premium Light is positioned between the extended and premium service packages, the company says. Premium Light is targeted at customers seeking to minimize the administrative costs that arise with standard repair jobs and who are able to assess the condition of the main components of their turbines.

Nordex says its service package is the result of customers asking for a flexible solution that was more comprehensive than its extended maintenance contract but more adaptable than the premium package, the company says.

The company says it has signed preliminary premium light contracts and has received  positive feedback from various European operators.
