North American Windpower: Moventas Adds Pair To Management Team

Finland-based gear manufacturer Moventas has appointed Mika Nieminen and Gerwin Klaner to its global management team.

Nieminen has been named to run the company's operations globally, and the long-term head of Moventas' German company. He joins Moventas as senior vice president of operations from Metso, where he held a similar position. Klaner, has been appointed to lead the company's industrial gears business. Previously, Klaner was in charge of Moventas’ German subsidiary for more than a decade.

The company says the appointments are effective Oct. 1.

Additionally, the company notes that Ahti Ahonen, who led Moventas’ operations and industrial gears business area since last winter, will retire at the end of this year, marking 37 years with the company.
