270 MW Offshore Wind Farm Secures Financing

Lincs Wind Farm Ltd. - a joint venture among Centrica PLC, DONG Energy and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH - has finalized agreements to provide nonrecourse project finance facilities for the 270 MW Lincs offshore wind farm, which is currently under construction in the U.K.

The financing, which totals 425 million British pounds, will be provided by 10 commercial banks: Abbey National Treasury Services PLC (trading as Santander Global Banking & Markets), BNP Paribas, Nordea Bank, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, Unicredit Bank, DNB Bank, HSBC Bank, KfW IPEX-Bank, Lloyds TSB, and The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.

Construction of the wind farm began in 2010, and the project is expected to be fully operational beginning in the first half of 2013.
