Quebec, Canada-based Boralex Inc. says it has signed a share purchase agreement for its subsidiary Boralex Europe SA to acquire a 32 MW wind project in France.

The project will consist of 16 Gamesa G90 2 MW wind turbines, and the total investment for the project will amount to C$55 million (43 million euros). The acquisition remains subject to financing as well as certain standard closing conditions.

The commissioning of the site is slated for the third quarter of 2013. All of the energy produced will be sold to Electricite de France under a 15-year contract.

"In addition to the 161 MW already in operation, this project will increase the total installed wind power capacity of Boralex in France to 193 MW,” notes Patrick Lemaire, president and CEO of Boralex.
