UpWind Solutions Inc., a provider of asset management operations and maintenance services, says it has signed a five-year technology partnership agreement with Smart Blade GmbH, a Germany-based designer of wind turbine blades.

By utilizing Smart Blade's technology and design expertise, UpWind engineers and technicians will be equipped with tools to improve aerodynamic engineering and sensor technology, UpWind says.

Smart Blade was established in 2009 and aims to increase the operational efficiency of wind turbines, from rotor blade maintenance and repair to complete aerodynamic and structural blade design.
