Companies Form Partnership To Serve Distributed Wind Energy Market

Sustainable Energy Developments (SED) and Harvest the Wind Network (HTWN) have formed a partnership designed to strengthen and provide the U.S. distributed wind energy market with streamlined access to development, project financing and wind technology services.

According to the companies, the partnership aims to increase distributed and community wind market penetration, create local jobs and foster energy independence.

SED specializes in project management and the installation of distributed wind projects, and HTWN manages a network of dealers throughout the U.S. and possesses relationships with manufacturers in the wind industry.

Under the new partnership, SED will provide technical sales support and fixed cost development services, and will be HTWN’s exclusive project manager for projects over 100 kW. SED will also become a dealer for the network, securing stable pricing and access to wind turbine technology and project financing in order to fulfill the company’s growing project pipeline in the Northeast.

HTWN also provides SED with access to an established network of over 125 installed turbines and a pipeline of more than 100 projects, the companies explain.

The partnership grew out of the two companies’ work developing an 850 kW Gamesa wind turbine project located in the Wayne Industrial Sustainability Park in Ontario, N.Y., where SED’s offices are located. The turbine is fully permitted and scheduled for installation this fall.
