Ulrike Kucera has joined the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) as media relations officer for the association's communications and public outreach team. Kucera joins CanWEA with more than 25 years of experience in media and government relations, internal and external communications, and public affairs. She has worked previously for the Canadian Bankers Association, Ontario Power Generation and Ontario Hydro.

In July, CanWEA also welcomed Michael Thibedeau as membership officer in Ottawa. Thibedeau will be responsible for managing the association's membership services and retention and recruitment strategies. He joins CanWEA from the Ontario Power Authority (OPA), where he managed the delivery of the electricity retrofit incentive programs for commercial markets. Prior to joining OPA, Thibedeau was a consultant with the Buildings Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA) managing the national rollout of the Go Green Certification Program for commercial buildings across Canada.
