The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) has named Scott Flake manager of power generation. In this position, Flake will oversee the operation of the utility's cogeneration, hydro, wind and solar generation plants.

A registered professional engineer in the state of California, Flake first joined SMUD as a contractor and was hired in 2001 as superintendent of engineering project development. His broad range of experience includes work in thermal generation development and an instrumental role in SMUD's Upper American River Project relicensing negotiations.
