Great River Energy, an Elk River, Minn.-based electric utility, has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for renewable energy resources and other power generation resources with low or no net carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The company is seeking approximately 300,000 MWh to 600,000 MWh per year of new resources from eligible energy technologies, including wind power, to help meet its 25% by 2025 mandate.

According to the company, it is interested in projects entering commercial operation late in 2009; however, projects that come online earlier or later will be considered. Proposals for resources qualifying as community-based energy development are encouraged, the company adds.

Deadline: June 22, 2007 (notice of intent); July 12, 2007 (proposals)
