Ottawa, Ontario-based GasTOPS Ltd., a provider of control and condition assessment solutions for rotating machinery, has promoted David Muir to president and chief executive officer.

Muir has been with the company for more than 25 years and has held positions of progressive responsibility within engineering and senior management, including vice president, marketing and sales, and executive vice president. Prior to joining GasTOPS, he worked at Pratt & Whitney Canada.

"Dave has been a key member of the GasTOPS team for many years," says Bernard MacIsaac, GasTOPS' founder and retiring chief executive officer. "He brings to this new position a profound understanding of the company's business and its markets."
