AWEC Receives Five New Orders For Its 900 kW Turbine

Americas Wind Energy Corp. (AWEC), a Toronto-headquartered manufacturer of 900 kW wind turbines for the North American market, has received several new orders from Iowa-based firms.

According to the company, Wind Vision and Waverly Light and Power requested two AWE 54-900 wind turbines. In addition, Rural Electric Convenience Cooperative recently ordered one AWE 54-900 turbine.

AWEC's AWE 54-900 turbine operates without a main drive gear and therefore without problems associated with gear drives, the company adds.
