Commissioners Walt Barham and Dan Buell have appointed Roger Allen to the Port of Longview Commission. He replaces Larry Larson, the Port's former District 1 Commissioner, who retired in April. Allen will serve as port commissioner until the next general election in November, at which time he will seek election for the remaining two years of the six-year term.

Allen has served on several community boards, including the Lower Columbia College Foundation board, the Cowlitz County Association of Realtors board and the Cowlitz Economic Development board. He has lived in Longview for 45 years.
