Atlanta-based GE Energy has agreed to supply 600 MW of wind turbines to Invenergy Wind LLC, a subsidiary of Invenergy LLC, for projects in 2008 in the U.S. and Canada.

In October 2006, Invenergy announced the purchase of 600 MW of GE Energy wind turbines for projects in 2007. (See "Invenergy Contracts With GE For Another 600 MW.") The latest order brings the total to 1,200 MW of GE's 1.5 MW machines for projects over the next two years, the companies say.

"The U.S. and Canada have vast wind energy resources, and Invenergy continues to demonstrate strong industry leadership and innovation in the development of that potential," says Victor Abate, GE's vice president, renewables.
