Oklahoma's Centennial Wind Farm Complete

OG&E Electric Services, an electric utility and subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp. of Oklahoma City, Okla., has completed its Centennial Wind Farm near Fort Supply, Okla.

The Centennial project, which is made up of 80 1.5 MW GE turbines, is one of the largest wind farms in Oklahoma, the company says. Together with the 50 MW OG&E obtained in 2003 through a long-term contract, the company now has 170 MW of wind-generated capacity - enough for more than 50,000 homes.

According to the company, wind energy from the new Centennial project will be available to all of its customers, rather than using a subscriber-based program.
