Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has announced changes to the cabinet, as well as what issues the group will focus on in 2007.

John Baird will take over the position of Minister of the Environment - prior to this appointment, he was president of the Treasury Board. Rona Ambrose, former Minister of the Environment, has been named president of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of Western Economic Diversification.

Included in the government's active agenda for the new year is more action to protect the environment and the health of Canadians.
