Arizona Public Service Co. (APS), a Phoenix-based electric utility provider, has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement for all of the wind energy generated by the Aragonne Mesa Wind Farm located 40 miles southwest of Santa Rosa, N.M.

The utility purchased the 90 MW of wind power from Aragonne Wind LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Babcock & Brown Operating Partners LLC, the companies say. In addition, the agreement marks the company's largest renewable energy purchase to date. It increases APS' renewable energy portfolio to 106 MW (from 16 MW), which includes 10 MW of geothermal and 6 MW of solar energy.
