Newton, Mass.-based First Wind will host an event Jan. 22 near Danforth, Maine, to celebrate the beginning of commercial operations for its 57 MW Stetson Wind project. Gov. John E. Baldacci, D-Maine, state and local officials, and members of the surrounding community will attend the ceremony.

First Wind officials will be on hand to discuss the economic and environmental benefits of Stetson Wind, which has the capacity to generate approximately 167 million kWh of electricity annually.
