U.K.-based Tentec has expanded its Aero WT series of bolt tensioning tools for wind power generation. The Aero range features bolt tensioning tools suitable for a complete wind turbine bolting installation or maintenance program on many different types and models of wind turbines. The products are manufactured from aircraft-quality high-strength tensile steel and are compact and lightweight for ease of handling.

The expanded range now includes Aero Model WTB, a purpose-designed range of hydraulic bolt tensioning tools to suit most wind turbine bolting applications. All WTB tensioning tools have the capacity to achieve the specified proof-load requirements as detailed in EN ISO 898 -1:1999 and ASTM A490M for grade 10.9 bolts.

These tensioners have been designed with rapid tensioning in mind and offer a safe, reliable and consistent method to simultaneously tension many bolts. The Aero Model WTB can be used for the main wind turbine bolted applications, including main shaft-to-hub, blade-to-hub slew ring and intermediate tower bolting.

The Aero Model WTF has been specifically designed for foundation bolting applications. The Aero WTF tensioning tools can be supplied to suit many different thread forms such as Williams and Dyson threaded bars and the more conventional ISO metric and Imperial Unified Thread forms. As with the Model WTB, the tools have been designed to simultaneously tension many foundation bolts.
