Knight & Carver Hires Manager For New Plant

Knight & Carver, a National City, Calif.-headquartered company that concentrates on the construction and repair of wind-turbine blades, has named Scott Finck plant manager of the new Howard, S.D., facility.

In his new role, Finck will oversee the start-up and full-scale operations of the company's planned 7.2 acre, 26,000 square-foot wind blade manufacturing and repair building. He will begin his managerial duties in November. In the meantime Finck is undergoing training at the company's California headquarters. The company plans to have 10 to 25 full-time employees by year's end, with plans for expansion next year.

"We are very pleased to welcome Scott to our team," says Gary Kanaby, Knight & Carver's wind blade division manager. "He brings the kind of hands-on experience, proven people skills and a native's knowledge of South Dakota that we were looking for."

Most recently, Finck served as plant manager with May & Scofield LLC in Madison, S.D., where he supervised the department managers and nearly 100 employees. He was employed at May & Scofield for the last 28 years.
