Vestas, a manufacturer of wind turbines, has entered into a three-year supply agreement with LM Glasfiber, a Denmark-headquartered manufacturer of blades for wind turbines, to supply 1,500 MW blades for Vestas' V82-1.65 MW turbine.

According to Vestas, the blades will be delivered from LM Glasfiber's factory in Bangalore as well as from a new factory under establishment in Dobespet - both located in India. The delivery is expected to begin mid-2007.

"The agreement marks a considerable prolongation and extension of the good cooperation which we have had with Vestas for years in India," says Soren F. Knudsen, LM Glasfiber's sales and marketing director. "The new supply agreement increases our order visibility up to and including 2009, and our capacity increase contributes to giving Vestas considerable flexibility in its supply chain."
