San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for short-term renewable resources for the 2008 to 2012 time frame to help meet California's renewable portfolio standard of 20% starting in 2010.

SDG&E is seeking energy that comes from solar, wind, geothermal, biomass or other renewable resources that qualify under state regulations, according to the company. The plants that produce the power can be inside or outside the SDG&E service territory.

Deadline: Jan. 11, 2008.
