Calgary, Alberta-headquartered Canadian Hydro Developers Inc. has appointed K. James Urquhart chief operating officer. Urquhart will report to Ross Keating, whose new title is president of operations and development.

As part of the executive team, Urquhart is accountable for providing strategic leadership to the organization. He is directly accountable for the financial and operational performance of the company's business divisions. In addition, Urquhart is responsible for ensuring appropriate infrastructures and resources are in place to support the continuous growth of the organization.

Urquhart is a professional engineer with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Calgary and an master's degree from the University of Alberta.
