Newton, Mass.-headquartered General Compression, developer of the Dispatchable Wind compressor system, has named Carlos Pineda senior development officer and Michael Witzing chief technology officer of power generation.

Prior to joining General Compression, Pineda was director of development for Orion Energy, where he managed the development of over 500 MW of wind energy projects in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Before working at Orion Energy, he was project director at AES Corp. and president of AES Honduras.

Witzing joins General Compression from LS Power Development, an independent energy project developer and owner. As executive vice president of engineering and construction at LS, Witzing managed the development, design, construction and operation of large power generation projects.
