Carpinteria, Calif-based Clipper Windpower PLC has agreed to supply 120 units, or 300 MW, of its 2.5 MW Liberty wind turbines to BP for delivery in 2009. This 300 MW transaction is part of a July 2006 strategic turbine supply and joint development agreement between Clipper and BP for up to 2,250 MW.

With the addition of this latest contract, the companies say, firm wind turbine sales orders, including wind turbine supply for joint development completed under the supply agreement, currently total 650 MW for deliveries through 2009.

"We are delighted with BP's continued momentum and leadership in bringing new renewable energy supply to its worldwide customers," says James G.P. Dehlsen, chairman and CEO of Clipper Windpower.
