China Ming Yang Wind Power has secured a deal to construct and supply a 87 MW portion of a 100 MW offshore wind tender near Zhuhai Guishan Island, Guangdong Province, China.

The wind project is to be developed by Southern Offshore Wind Power Joint Development Co., which is controlled by China Southern Power Grid Ltd. Ming Yang says it will provide a complete technology and construction solution, including 29 units of its 3 MW super compact drive (SCD) wind turbines, turbine towers, foundation structures and project management.

Following final approvals, construction is anticipated to begin in October and be completed by the end of 2014.
