The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is seeking bidders for a competitive lease sale for the rights to develop offshore wind power in the Gulf of Mexico.

According to the GLO, four offshore tracts will be leased for wind power development, and other coastal and upland tracts will be leased for the exploration and production of oil, gas and minerals at an Oct. 2 School Land Board meeting. The GLO says bids are due no later than 10 a.m. Central time on Oct. 2. Bids will be opened during the School Land Board meeting.
