GDF SUEZ and EDP Renewables have signed an agreement to participate jointly in the next public tender for offshore wind projects in France, whose final purpose is the development and installation of a total of 1 GW in French waters - 500 MW in Le Treport (Haute-Normandie) and 500 MW close to the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier (Pays-de-la-Loire).

The companies explain the offers will be assessed by the French State according to technical, financial, industrial, social and environmental criteria. The tenders will be submitted to the French Regulatory Commission of Energy by Nov. 29, and a governmental decision is expected in 2014.
