Turbine manufacturer Gamesa has signed an agreement with Consorcio Morrinhos to supply 75 of its G97-2.0 MW wind turbines for five wind projects being built in Brazil in the town of Campo Formoso in the Bahia state.

Gamesa expects to start installing the wind turbines in the second half of 2014 and finish by the first half of 2015. Under the agreement, Gamesa will also handle operations and maintenance at all five wind farms for a period of 15 years.

Wind farm construction will generate 870 direct and indirect jobs. Once operational, the projects will produce around 727,000 MWh of electricity a year, Gamesa notes.
