Broadwind Energy Inc. says it has received a $35 million wind tower order from a U.S. wind turbine manufacturer. The order includes towers for various domestic wind projects.

The towers will be produced at Broadwind's Manitowoc, Wis., facility and will be delivered this year.

In August 2012, Broadwind said it was moving away from wind power to focus on other areas of its business. However, since then, the company has received several large orders.

"The level of activity in our wind tower business remains strong, and this order moves us one step closer to filing our tower capacity for 2013,” says Peter C. Duprey, Broadwind’s president and CEO.
