Renewable energy engineering consultancy SgurrEnergy has completed its technical advisory on wpd's German Butendiek offshore wind farm development, located in the North Sea.

SgurrEnergy says its scope of work included assessing construction risk, key financial model parameters, project agreements, interface risk, technology risk and long-term operational issues. The construction phase of the project will begin by the end of March.

The 288 MW Butendiek offshore wind farm is expected to be Germany's fourth pre-construction, project-financed offshore wind farm, joining Borkum West II, Meerwind and Global Tech I, SgurrEnergy notes, adding that the company has advised each of them.
