Wind and industrial gear manufacturer Moventas has opened a subsidiary in France. The company says the new subsidiary will increase the company's presence and sales efforts in all of its business areas in the country.

The new subsidiary will focus on building Moventas' local service and technical support in France, for both its industrial and wind gears offerings. Moventas France will be responsible for industrial gears service and gearbox markets in France and will also enter the wind gears service market in the country.

The subsidiary will also support the company's Mediterranean unit in the industrial gears market in Italy, Spain and the rest of the Mediterranean area.

The new subsidiary is located in Bordeaux and will be led by Francois Bonomo, who has joined Moventas from Medpaper.
