Wind and industrial gear manufacturer Moventas has appointed Brian Scorer as senior vice president (SVP) of its Service business unit.

Scorer joins Moventas from pump technology company ClydeUnion Pumps, a part of SPX Corp., where he most recently served as vice president of commercial operations. In this role, Scorer also oversaw the company's Aftermarket division. Before his long career at ClydeUnion Pumps, Scorer worked in various positions for industrial conglomerate Ingersoll Rand and then Flowserve.

Olli Valimaki, current SVP of Moventas' Service unit, will take on a new role, in which he will develop the company’s gearbox and service businesses in the Asia Pacific market. Moventas currently has an industrial gear manufacturing site in Suzhou, China; a service workshop and sales office near Sydney, Australia; and an industrial gears agent operating in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and China.

Both appointments will become effective April 1. Scorer joins Moventas on Feb. 18.
