National Wind, a developer of utility-scale community wind farms, has hired Ron Peterson as its director of project permitting.

Peterson is a wildlife biologist and attorney with 34 years of environmental and permitting experience. At National Wind, he will oversee the permitting activities for the company's wind projects under development in Minnesota and three other states.

For the past seven years, Peterson has been technical director for environmental services at Westwood Professional Services, where he focused on technical studies and permitting for 10 wind projects in eight states.
