Nineteen members of the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) have co-sponsored a resolution designed to encourage greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, energy production and sustainable building practices throughout the country. One priority is to accelerate the development of clean, economical energy resources such as wind power.

Adopted during an NLGA meeting in Williamsburg, Va., the resolution included a promise by the lieutenant governors to use their offices as a platform to reduce GHG emissions, according to the office of Lieutenant Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll, D-Pa., who was one of the lieutenant governors to sign the resolution.

"On both sides of the aisle, my colleagues and I stand ready to ensure our nation provides a sustainable environment in which to live, work and educate our children," says Knoll.
