Worker Killed While Installing Wind Turbine In Germany

A subcontractor operating a crane installing Vestas wind turbines at a site in Germany was killed when a blade fell onto the crane cabin, Vestas reports.

The incident occurred on Dec. 3 at about 10 a.m. local time. Vestas says it isn't yet clear what caused the accident but that the wind turbine manufacturer, together with the crane company, has engaged a third party to conduct a thorough investigation into the root cause of the incident.

Vestas says it will provide further details once they become known.
