Centrica has awarded a contract to renewable energy consultancy GL Garrad Hassan for the design, supply, installation and operation of an offshore meteorological mast system for the Celtic Array project, which will be located in the Irish Sea.

The system includes a meteorological mast, a power-supply system, navigational aids and a full suite of measurement equipment.

The Celtic Array project is a 50/50 joint venture between Centrica Renewable Energy Ltd. (a subsidiary of Centrica PLC), and DONG Energy Wind Power Holdings.
