After completing an A-Design assessment, GL Renewables Certification (GL RC) has awarded Chongqing Wangjiang Industrial Co. Ltd. a statement of compliance for its new 2 MW wind turbine gearbox model.

The component certification process comprises the design assessment, the evaluation of manufacturing and installation processes, internal quality management and prototype testing. If all of the requirements in these four modules are successfully fulfilled, a type certificate can be issued.

In addition, GL RC notes that it has opened its fifth international office in Glasgow, Scotland. The office and staff members will deal with type and component certification for clients in the U.K. and Ireland. In addition to onshore wind, GL RC Glasgow will concentrate on offshore project certification and marine renewables.
