The American Wind Alliance LLC, part of T. Boone Pickens' Mesa Power, has divested 100% of its ownership interest in AWA Goodhue LLC to a local community advisory board, which has renamed the project New Era Wind Farm LLC.

The development agreement for the 78 MW Minnesota wind project, which has been plagued by controversy and regulatory delays, was terminated when its former developer, National Wind, was acquired by Indian wind energy developer Trishe Energy.

New Era has formed an advisory board comprising active participants in the project that are longtime residents of Goodhue County. Many of the advisory-board members are life-long residents of Goodhue County whose families have been engaged in farming in Goodhue County for several generations.

New Era says it plans to develop this project with significant local input and direction from its advisory board.

The $150 million project is planned to utilize 48 wind turbines over a project area of about 15,000 acres in rural Goodhue County, Minn.

More information will be forthcoming as the development of the project through the advisory board continues, New Era Wind Farm LLC says.
