GL Renewables Certification (GL RC) has issued a component certificate to SCADA International for its power-plant controller. The GL RC certificate confirms that the power-plant controller meets the requirements of the Federation of German Windpower (FGW).

According to GL RC, the certificate is the first issued to a power-plant controller based on an assessment of compliance with FGW guidelines. Evidence of grid-code compliance can now be issued for each wind farm in Germany and worldwide by using this certificate in combination with a project certificate according to GL's technical note 065 on grid-code compliance together with any local grid code, GL RC explains.

"The certificate provides evidence that the device has passed the tests and assessments relating to the medium-voltage regulations and other corresponding grid codes,” says Mike Woebbeking, head of GL RC. “This will give SCADA International customers greater confidence and security to provide its clients with an advanced level of security when they are planning new installations."
