Renewable energy consultancy GL Garrad Hassan has appointed Carole Barbeau as the new president and CEO of GL Garrad Hassan North America, effective immediately.

Barbeau will be responsible for managing the activities of GL Garrad Hassan in North America. She will be based out of the company's Canadian office in Montreal.

Barbeau has extensive experience in the renewable energy industry. Previously, she was senior vice president of GL Garrad Hassan, and before the merger of Germanischer Lloyd (GL) with Garrad Hassan, she was CEO of GL subsidiary Helimax. Some of her previous positions include head of site environmental remediation at Dessau and general manager of Montreal Biogenie S.R.D.C. Inc. Barbeau has also served as a member of the Canadian Wind Energy Association’s board of directors.
