Less than a year after two large-scale wind turbines were installed at the Cooper Farms Cooked Meats plant in Van Wert, Ohio, One Energy LLC says it plans to add a third turbine to the site.

Completed in November 2011 by One Energy, the first two 1.5 MW Goldwind turbines are producing enough power to reduce Cooper Farms' energy expenses by 50% every month, according to One Energy.

Initially, the plan was to consider a third turbine after a couple years of evaluating the first project, the company explains, but the success was so significant that Cooper Farms decided to install a third turbine as soon as possible.

One Energy says construction of the 400-foot machine will begin this month, and the turbine will be producing energy by the end of this year.
