Turbine manufacturer Nordex says it will supply a total of seven wind turbines for two wind farms being developed by ABO Wind in Ireland.

Nordex says it will provide wind turbines for the second phase of the Glenough wind farm and the 15 MW Gibbett Hill wind farm. Both projects will be located in southern Ireland at windy elevated sites.

According to Nordex, the contracts calls for the delivery and assembly of its N90/2500 turbine, which is configured for wind speeds of approximately 9 m/s. The annual yield of the seven turbines has been calculated at around 70 GWh, translating into an above-average capacity factor of 45%, Nordex adds.

The Glenough 2 project will be completed in December, while Gibbett Hill is expected to be completed in 2013.
