Gamesa Sells Wind Farms To European Private-Equity Group; Signs Turbine Supply Agreement

Gamesa says it has reached an agreement to sell three wind farms in France and one in Germany to KGAL GmbH & Co., a German capital asset manager.

According to Gamesa, the Quatre Vallees I and Quatre Vallees II wind farms, with a capacity of 12 MW and 20 MW, respectively, are each located in the region of Champagne-Ardennes in northeastern France. The Souvigne wind farm, with a nameplate capacity of 8 MW, is located in the region of Poitou-Charentes in western France. They are all equipped with the G90X-2.0 MW wind turbine. Souvigne and Quatre Vallees I are already active, and the construction of Quatre Vallees II is expected to start soon.

Meanwhile, the 16 MW German Sarow wind farm, located in northeastern Germany, is under construction, and will also be equipped with the G90X-2.0 MW turbine.

In other company news, Gamesa has signed a deal to supply 24 of its G87-2.0 MW Class S wind turbines to Chinese company Huadian Group for a wind farm in Liyushan, Fujian Province, China. Gamesa expects turbine deliveries to be completed by Aug. 31. According to Gamesa, the G87-2.0 MW Class S wind turbine includes design improvements to be able to be installed in close to Class I condition sites, increasing energy production by more than 8% when compared to the former G80-2.0 MW turbine model.
