The Port of Longview, located in Washington, has named Geir-Eilif Kalhagen its CEO, effective Sept. 1. Kalhagen will succeed long-time executive Ken O'Hollaren, who will stay on through the remainder of the year to help ensure a smooth transition, according to the port. O'Hollaren joined the port in 1980 and was named executive director in 1988.

Kalhagen’s diverse maritime management experience and familiarity with the Columbia River made him the standout candidate, notes the port. Before the Port of Longview,  Kalhagen worked in operations management for both SSA and Star Shipping, and most recently served as the general manager for tidal transport and trading in the Columbia River.
