The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has been awarded a $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to support a collaboration to integrate green energy manufacturing courses, including those pertaining to wind energy, into the university's curriculum.

According to UTEP, the grant funds a five-year collaboration between UTEP and Drexel University that is designed to integrate technology-based and real-world problem solving into green energy manufacturing courses.

The addition of three new classes in green energy manufacturing will increase the number of well-trained system engineers with the skills to identify opportunities for green energy processes and practices in industrial settings, UTEP notes.
