BOEM Seeks Public Comment For Mass./R.I. WEA

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will hold a July 17 public meeting in New Bedford, Mass., to receive public comments about the environmental assessment for offshore wind energy projects located in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island wind energy area (WEA).

According to BOEM, the meeting will include presentations from federal and state officials - including BOEM Director Tommy Beaudreau - as well as a discussion on the next steps in BOEM's leasing process. The environmental assessment was released for public review and comment on July 2.
